Karen Chaddock

My name is Karen Chaddock, and I’m originally from Newberg, Oregon. I came to Stockton to work as an Occupational Therapist at San Joaquin General Hospital. I was to stay for a year per a scholarship agreement, but ended up meeting my husband and stayed. A friend of a friend (namely Lani Schiff-Ross) brought me to SCC and introduced me to Kevin. In Newberg I attended Newberg Friends Church Sunday School, and had gone through their Awana program. At college in Tacoma, Washington I attended University Place Presbyterian Church where I stayed through my year of IVCF volunteer staff, and then two years of graduate school. I’m currently the Secretary for the council. I wanted to serve where I could be of help, and I like organizing and keeping track of things. I also want to be a voice on the council for the areas of ministry in which I’m most involved…children’s ministry and women’s ministry. Currently I co-lead the Cherub Choir preschool group on Thursdays, teach the preschool Sunday School class and help with Sonbeams. I’ve recently been involved in the Women’s Friday morning Bible study and will be co-facilitating that group this spring. I’ve co-led and hosted various small groups throughout the years, served in children’s ministries in various capacities and served on the Missions Board, which I chaired in 2000. Prior to my SCC years I was involved in small group leading, short-term missions and worship leading through InterVarsity.
